Elmwood Records Center is a subsidiary of one of the oldest and largest real estate development firms in New Orleans. Lauricella Land Company started by developing residential properties. To meet the needs of the residents of one of its early subdivision, it soon gravitated into commercial development with the construction of the Airline Park Shopping Center. Since that time, the company has continued to be a leader in the real estate development field with properties in Orleans Parish, in both the East Bank and West Bank of Jefferson Parish, in St. Tammany Parish, and in Alabama. The company’s holdings include shopping centers, office buildings, industrial / distribution centers, hotels, apartments, self storage, French Quarter residential developments, and records and information management. It was also a partner in the development of the Palace Movie Theater chain that was sold to AMC Theaters.

The company was founded by John L. Lauricella, continued by sons John L. Lauricella, Jr., and Francis E. “Hank” Lauricella, - a 32-year member of the Louisiana Legislature, serving as both a member of the House of Representatives and of the Senate - and is now headed by his grandson, Louis V. Lauricella. The company has received numerous local and national awards for business and civic excellence and enjoys an impeccable reputation.
